Today, I’m s̶t̶a̶n̶d̶i̶n̶g̶ walking/biking/scootering/riding transit in #solidarity with Uber and Lyft drivers who are on strike for fairer wages and better work conditions nationwide: conditions like livable incomes, job security, and regulated fares.
As you opt for other modes of transportation today, please remember that even though Uber and Lyft could not have become multi-billion dollar corporations without their drivers, they have invested all of their research and millions of dollars into technology that would eliminate the need for the very people responsible for their success.
Also remember: ride-hailing apps like uber and lyft don’t *actually* do anything to decrease the number of cars on the road. It’s as much of a solution to congestion as…widening roads.
Today, #webelong in a city that chooses to ride the bus 🚌 ride a bike 🚴♂️ ride a scooter 🛴 ride …a walk 🚶♀️
